New Roles — Renewed Vision — The Same Heart
As of March 1, 2019, Rambam Health Care Campus welcomed its new, and ninth General Director, Dr. Michael Halberthal. For Professor Rafi Beyar this simply means a new title, new goals, and renewed focus on what is near and dear to his heart — Rambam Health Care Campus!

We are excited to share with you that on Friday March 1, Dr. Michael (Miki) Halberthal began to serve as the ninth General Director of Rambam Health Care Campus.
Dr. Halberthal studied medicine at the Technion Medical School, followed by a fellowship in England, and at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Halberthal specialized in three areas: pediatrics, pediatric intensive care, and medical administration. In 2009, he joined Rambam's management team, and in 2013, he was appointed as Deputy Director. He serves as chairman of the Teaching Center for Trauma, Emergency and Mass Casualty Situations, and is also a leading member of the vital Hospital Emergency Preparedness Staff. In addition to his many roles at Rambam, Dr. Halberthal was recently appointed Clinical-educator Assistant Professor at the Technion’s Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Halberthal also served for many years in the reserves as an airborne operations doctor in the Israel Air Force.
After 13 years of outstanding service as Rambam’s General Director, Professor Rafi Beyar retires from that role, but not from Rambam. In addition to continuing his work as an interventional cardiologist, he will now serve as:
President, International Friends Associations, Rambam Health Care Campus;
Chairman, Steering Committee, Helmsley Health Discovery Tower; and
Chairman, Founding Committee, Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital.
Professor Beyar led Rambam with unparalleled vision, wisdom, and dedication. We are deeply grateful for his leadership and contributions, and delighted that we will continue to benefit from Professor Beyar's guidance as we work together to face the challenges ahead and fulfill the hospital’s landmark development project.
We wish Dr. Halberthal and Professor Beyar every success in their new positions, and look forward to continuing to work together with them.
We are confident that with Dr. Halberthal’s leadership and the support of our talented and dedicated friends, we will press onward to fulfill our vital mission — ensuring that Rambam Health Care Campus continues to provide world-class healthcare to the people of Northern Israel.
