Israeli Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz Visits Rambam
November 11, 2021 – “6,000 people work here and give their all, even under difficult conditions. I heard a great deal of praise about the staff from dozens of patients who approached me,” shared Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz on his Facebook page.
Israel’s Minister of Health, Nitzan Horowitz, visited Rambam Health Care Campus earlier this week for an extensive working visit. During the course of the visit, Rambam General Director Dr. Michael Halberthal provided the minister with an overview of the hospital’s activities. He also spoke about the challenges that Rambam is currently facing, and about the vision and development plans for the coming years.
Following the meeting with Dr. Halberthal, Minister Horowitz was given a tour of several campus facilities. These included the Herta and Paul Amir Internal Medicine Building, where they observed the infrastructure upgrade project currently underway in the Departments of Internal Medicine and the Psychiatry and Mental Health Division. The Health Minister also visited the Green-Wagner Department of Emergency Medicine, the Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein Z”L Shock Trauma Room, Helmsley Health Discovery Tower (which is currently under construction), Joseph Fishman Oncology Center, and the Cheryl Spencer Pediatric Emergency Department.
“I know that Rambam plays a central role in the north, and is the flagship of public medicine in this part of the country. I wanted to come to Rambam to learn about the hospital’s needs and its struggles.”
