Rambam Holds Successful Gala Fundraising Event in London
More than 400 people came to show their support for Rambam Health Care Campus at a gala held London last week, attending a pre-premiere of “Rocketman”, the biographical film depicting the life of world-famous musician Sir Elton John. The event was held by British Friends of Rambam Medical Centre.
On Monday, May 21st, a special fundraising gala event was held at London’s Cineworld Empire in Leicester Square, with all income designated for allocation to the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory in Rambam's Eyal Ofer Heart Hospital. The highlight of this red-carpet event was the world pre-premiere of “Rocketman”, which was shown in one of the cinema’s luxurious IMAX theaters. Tickets were sold at three different price points, and VIP ticket holders and other dignitaries were treated to an exclusive cocktail party prior to the screening.
Ticket holders entered the theater by climbing stairs upon which the Rambam logo was cleverly projected. Throughout the facility itself were numerous large screens displaying images and video presentations showing Rambam in action.
The gala was supported by Cineworld cinemas and the event’s sponsors were XT Group, Barclays, Ernst & Young, LRC Group, The Jacob & Gitla Zukier Medical Fund, Teddy Sagi’s company LABTECH, Jewish News, Bank Leumi, and First Class Protection. Attendees included members of the local Jewish and Israeli communities, as well as Rambam supporters from Israel and the United States, who flew to London especially for the event. Circulating among the attendees were Mr. Israel Greidinger, Rambam CEO Dr. Michael Halberthal, Managing Director of International Relations and Chief of Strategic Development Dr. Esty Golan, and Ms. Inbar Shahaf, Rambam’s Head of Market Development and Donor Relations. Also in attendance was Mr. Ronny Rosenthal, a London-based Israeli former soccer player who played for teams in the UK and Belgium.
“This gala event enabled us to raise awareness of Rambam in the British Jewish community. We are pleased by the number of people and sponsors who chose to come support us, and believe this event provided them with a greater understanding of what it means to be a world-class hospital in Northern Israel and the challenges we face as a tertiary care level one trauma center. The funds we raised this evening will help us to move forward with our new cardiac catheterization laboratory, allowing us to continue serving the cardiac patients of Northern Israel and beyond,” noted Israel Greidinger (Chairman of the Israeli Friends of Rambam and Director of Cineworld group).
