Dare to Dream at Eurovision – Helping Rambam Turn Dreams into Reality
“Dare to Dream” is the slogan for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, and organizations involved with the competition are working to make these dreams a reality. They have established a joint fundraising campaign to benefit the children of Rambam’s Ruth Rappaport Children’s Hospital.
Every year, Sennheiser, a maker of wireless event amplification systems, plays a role in producing the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) song competition, better known as the Eurovision Song Contest. This is the competition’s 64th year. Following Israel’s win in 2018, the contest is being held this year at Expo Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Over the past few years, Sennheiser has donated a portion of its income to a local organization or non-profit in the Eurovision host country, as part of its contribution to the community. This year, Sennheiser and Kilim, the local importer of the company's products in Israel, have decided to make a joint donation to the Ruth Rappaport Children's Hospital at Rambam Health Care Campus.
Sennheiser has set up a coffee and pastry stand at Expo Tel Aviv. The stand is accessible to more than 1,600 members of the staff and production teams, 1,500 journalists, hundreds of delegates from the 41 countries participating in the competition. It will also be accessible to the thousands of spectators who will visit the site for each of the rehearsals, the semifinals and the final, which will take place on Saturday, May 18th.
Meir Kilim, owner of local Sennheiser importer Kilim, stated, “For every shekel raised, Kilim will contribute an additional shekel to increase the donation. Fundraising began in mid-April and will culminate with the granting of four tickets to four hospitalized children and an accompanying parent for each child to attend the general rehearsal of one of the semifinals.”
Together, Kilim and Sennheiser hope to provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the children and give them hope for a quicker, better recovery, or, to sum it up in three words: Dare to Dream.
